Shaped by the work of Terra Collective, our atelier programme allows us to not only to pass on the precious knowledge and experiences shared with us, but also supports the continuation of our research. We offer the opportunity for people to join us to explore claywork in varying forms, from the revival of ancient ceramic traditions to the development of new practice. Those joining us will experience an approach to making that is intuitive, haptic, and heavily informed by the environment in which it takes place.
In France, we work from our permanent base at the Maison Salvadore in Poitou Charentes, a region with a rich ceramic history. From there we currently offer subsidised residencies, along with a number of shorter self-funded programmes and numerous opportunities for those new to clay, or who are not yet full-time practitioners.
Our offsite ateliers are unique research and development trips planned with local partners and artisans that provide authentic and immersive experiences for those interested in clay and it’s role in indigenous and pre-colonial cultures. We are privileged to collaborate with artisans and leaders in their communities, sharing a holistic understanding of makers and their way of life.
Our off-site ateliers in Mexico are a 7 day research programme available for individuals and small groups at dates of your choosing throughout Dec 2019 to March 2020. This offers solo travellers, couples, friends and private and unique experiences. For solo travellers looking to join with other participants get in touch and we can try and form a group.
