Covid - 19

Changes in light of Covid. If Covid-19 restrictions prevent an atelier or trip from taking place it will be rescheduled for the same time the following year.

A reminder that everybody joining us must have travel insurance that provides adequate medical coverage including Covid-19 related admissions and expenses, you are also advised to take out insurance that protects you should you have to cancel or re-arrange your trip. We are not affiliated with but recommend Safety Wing Insurance for affordable travel medical cover. -https://safetywing.com/nomad-

For those concerned that Covid may affect their travel, it is worth saying that it is extremely unlikely that Mexico Armenia will close its borders to outsiders as it has not done so throughout the entire pandemic.

Of course your country of departure could always restrict travel, if this happens we are happy to help with documentation that your visit is for educational / training purposes, which have in the past been exceptions to travel restrictions.

We can also help provide any documentation needed for you to claim on your travel insurance in the event that you won't be able to attend.

Our current policy is that anyone joining us will have to provide a vaccination certificate/ or negative antigen test result, no more than 48 hours before the start of the experience to keep everyone safe.

All our staff and collaborators are fully vaccinated, and take tests before the start of our group trip.

Photography & Social Media Etiquette

Photography - The Atelier participant agrees to check with us or the artisan if it’s ok to take a photo before taking it, (of any one or anything). If you don’t speak the language you can always just point to the camera phone and say OK or as one of the Terra team to ask for you. This is really important as many ancestral communities have beliefs relating to photography, and some artisans guard their designs and working methods closely and don’t want these to be shared.

Use of mobile phones. Please don’t use your mobile phone (except for taking photo’s or notes) during an atelier or trip. If you need to use your phone please go outside or away from where the atelier is taking place. This is just out of respect for the artisan as it can often be misconstrued as disrespectful or a sign of boredom.

Photos and Social media

The Atelier participant agrees to credit Terra and the artisans we work with, in social media posts with images taken during the atelier, as with any exhibitions or public displays of work made during atelier or inspired by that which they experienced/ learned.

Please feel free to publish the images on facebook or instagram but we ask that you tag us and include us in the description @terra_ancestral. This allow us to keep track and ensure that those we work with are represented in the way they deserve. It also helps others to find out about our work and support those we work with further.
